A Day In The Life

“S” is for…

Stripes, of course! This is one of two chipmunks that live in our yard. At least we believe there’s only two. We often see them filling their cheeks with seeds gathered from underneath the feeders. When Newt is inside I leave nut treats near the cherry tree and behind our small trash shed for them to find • Thanks so much to Laurie54 for hosting Mono Monday • Today was Day 2 in our vegetable garden. We planted pickling cucumbers and lots of potatoes. MrsP wants to grow cucumbers vertically on the teepee structure that we made over the weekend. To help the vines climb we bought netting to wrap around the teepee. We certainly underestimated the ease of accomplishing this task, lol! MrsP kept cursing the netting saying reality was not matching what she envisioned. I kept saying let’s press on and do the best we can with what we have, which basically means our own limitations!! Finally, we finished, knowing all too well passersby and neighbors will be wondering what we have erected in our backyard. MrsP thinks it looks like a lighthouse, I call it lawn art. All we can hope for is monmouth cucumber plants will eventually cover it up and save the day!!
