No Mow May?

Maidstone Borough Council know about No Mow May as there are several posters up around our village proclaiming where they’ve left wildflowers to flourish in the verges. Not in Mote Park. They must have a reason for decapitating all the buttercups but I can’t think of why they are mowing here.

We had friends Al and Liz over for the day. First time we’ve seen them since early October just before Essex went into Tier 3. We’ve kept in to inch via Zoom, that’s no substitute for seeing them in the flesh. We talked about many of the things that Susan and I always talk about but somehow it was different and upbeat. A great tonic fir us all.

Allotment update, I had a reply from both the Clerk and Chairman of the Parish Council both failing to understand or even acknowledge our position. There was a plotholders meeting this evening which we were not able to attend because of our long awaited meeting with Al and Liz. I’ll look forward to hearing a summary of the meeting. My views are well known!
