Solway Colour…

Spring came in kicking yesterday. Warm sunshine, blue skies and a coastal wander filled with colour.
I’m fortunate to live both near hills and the coast. Within half an hour I can be wandering along the cliffs above the Solway.

The woods were a delight of bluebells and wild garlic. The sun finding the gaps to light up the forest floor. The leaves above shining in the light.

Out onto the cliffs. Pink Sea Thrift carpeting the ground, interspersed with squill and campion. The beautiful aroma of wild garlic now replaced with the coconut of gorse.

A soft bed of grass to sit on, remove my boots and enjoy lunch. The waves gently caressing the rocks below.
It’s too beautiful here to move on so I lie in the sunshine for a few hours, enjoying the sounds and the smells of a beautiful spring day.
