Back of Bourke ....

.... describes a place that is really remote. We drove today from our base in Bourke to Louth, 100 km further down the Darling River. This plant is a species of ptilotus, growing on the floodplain of the Darling. Common names include lambs tail and mulla mulla. They are adapted to dry climates and salty soils.

The first extra is a ‘natural garden’ setting of the same species.

The second extra is our destination today - the Louth pub. Being on holidays we’d lost track of the fact that today is Saturday, which is the day of the week that locals (mainly men) come from all over the place for lunch at the Louth pub.
