Johnny Jump-Ups

I love volunteers in the garden.  These Johnny Jump-Ups pop up every year unbidden in various places in the garden.  I guess that's where they got their name.  Their sweet sunny faces are always a welcome sight.  I wonder if I will have any sunflowers this year planted by a squirrel, chipmunk or bird?  I usually do.  A rainy cool few days a head and I am so relieved.  We are desperate for the rain and I am happy that the summer heat will hold off a bit longer.
