Build Me Up Buttercup

I have previously chronicled my war against the dandelions which infest the lawn. A sustained period of regular mowing, and cutting down anything that pops up in between, has resulted in quite a big improvement, with a substantial reduction in their numbers.
Unfortunately their place has been taken by buttercups. I say “unfortunately” because although the buttercup is a fine - even pretty - flower that does not spread like the dandelion, I have neither the patience or the skill to avoid them when mowing the lawn. And the mowing must go on in order to defeat the dandelion hordes. So make the most of this picture - it’s all that remains of the buttercup. It, and many of it’s fellows have just become collateral damage in the ongoing war against weeds.
On the plus side, we actually got to sit out on the new deck in the evening sunshine. Very pleasant it was too, just sitting there watching the birds visiting the feeders. They were only a few feet away from us but, as long as we didn’t make any sudden movements, they were quite happy to pop down and feed.
And whilst on the subject of building things up (sorry, I had the title for today’s blip even before the picture. Now I need to make the narrative fit) a good PT session at the gym this morning. Managed to better last weeks efforts on most exercises and not feeling anywhere near as sore afterwards. Which is a good thing!
Hard to believe that I’ll be doing (possibly) my last blip tomorrow. It was only meant to be a year long exercise and the year is up on 30th May. Decision as to the blipping future will be made after a thorough review of the last twelve months activity...
