Shone

And today the sun shone, on and on.
The breakfasts at Monachyle Mhor and to die for and this morning’s didn’t disappoint. Foo, we headed to Balquhidder and behind Rob Roy’s Grave we found a beautiful walk up Kirkton Glen. The very same walk I was taken on by family friends circa 1976 where I got lost in the woods. I remember the FEAR as if it were yesterday and the spot where I sat sobbing, petrified that wolves were going to eat me til I was eventually found by the adults.
Stunning walk in the sun and bluebells with views down Loch Voil. We headed back with the papers for a lazy afternoon, more of their fabulous Dr Osborne’s gin and a cheeky charcuterie lunch. Absolutely scorchio in the sun , heaven, felt like being in the South of France.
Dinner was at the roadhouse relative of Mhor 84 which has a more relaxed vibe and only three courses of sumptuous food and a gin or two. Everyone was happy, out in the sun, socialising, Bliss
Covid feels a long time ago. Let’s hope it is.
