Hot hot hot

After a very short sleep I heard son get up (he’d had even less sleep than me, so rare for him to get up early!).  He disappeared off to town and returned with weedkiller.  On one of the hottest days so far he cut the front grass, dug out the front flower beds and laid weed matting.  Don’t think his back will recover for a while as it is bad at the best of times!  My grandson turned up unexpectedly which was lovely, so we sat out in the garden and moved round with the sun. He arrived at 3pm and before we knew it the time was 7pm - we just never stopped talking!  He is still set on joining the RAF and has all his plans set out.  The sign up period is now around 12 years - longer than the other forces, and  a long time to be committed - the first 3 years being training.  He is still in Air Cadets, although this has been on hold for group meetings since lockdown. When not at school he has been working in a cafe in Haworth in his spare time - loves serving but hates pot washing!  I must call in for a coffee! Just a quick flower blip at the end of the day as never left the garden - tried to blip ‘the worker’ but he wasn’t having any of it!
