Dogfight over Bavaria - USAF hits back

Jane's All the World's Aircraft has apparently now conceeded that a Bavarian was the 1st to carry out a powered flight; Gustav Weißkopf in 1901, two years before the Wrights. Naturally understand the USA is upset but so far they haven't recalled their Consul General from Munich. I think your moon record is safe but several Aussies, Kiwis, Jocks & Brits will probably have seen "Alois" hanging in the Hofbrau Tent at the Oktoberfest - perhaps he was there first!
On a serious note, Flash hates just 3 things - guns, aircraft & thunder. Today was a wonderful sunny, warm (+10°C) day & after proper lunch the dogs sat out on the grass with two large bones we boiled for them. Then suddenly the airforce arrived with 3 jets & for over an hour played dogfights above us. Flash tried hiding but the car wasn't even safe enough. Let him in the house. At 5:00pm was about to go out to do the stables when the skies turned black & a massive thunderstorm came our way. Poor Flash was torn between the absolute panic from the noise against his need to fulfill his duty & check out the horses. I forced him to stay indoors. One lightning strike must have been very close (it was loud enough) and knocked out the main house electricity fuse so that when Angie came home, the gate wouldn't open. I didn't notice as the stables have a seperate fuse & this held! She phoned me! Northern Bavaria is suffering snow chaos & -5°C. Crazy. Tomorrow it's our turn!
