How can it be the last day of  May already? But here it is and I haven't even blipped the page from our Angela Harding calendar.

This is entitled The Common, referring to that at Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, which she describes as a fascinating place, where nature meets commuters. Despite the traffic and people it is still the home of Meadow Pipits, Orchids and very rare Blue butterflies.

I particularly like the detail in this picture - so much, in contrast to the rather spare image for April.
