Spangle

I think this is a Spangle butterfly Papilio protenor. I’ve been trying to get a blip of one of these for weeks. Today we have had substantial rain for the first time in months and perhaps the steamy humidity slowed it down enough for me to catch it.

The steam made its appearance in all of the other photos I took today, which is a pity, as I had some picnicking Munias to show you. Going from aircon to 30 deg and 87% humidity is not conducive to blipping. Another lesson learned.
