Well what a glorious day which felt like summer.  We had a tortuous journey over to York which resulted in a very quick cuppa and scone with Margaret and Alan due to us being behind time to visit Nev for lunch.  Under his direction we drove to Sheriff Hutton and had a most enjoyable lunch in the pub garden with a view of the castle, a slice of normal.  We dropped Nev home and picked up the gear he needs us to take to Scotland then set off to beat the rush hour traffic.  Easier said than done, the York bypass was busy and when we passed the A1M junction we ground to a crawl in a line of vehicles behind a huge harvesting machine for several miles.  Calling in at the supermarket I asked Tony to pick up ice creams and he returned with a box of six mini magnums, the smallest he could find so I proceeded to eat three one after the other.....
