Look Both Ways

We saw this guy at the end of our walk this morning. He was carefully avoiding a little human family on the trail, tiptoeing around behind them so they had no idea he was close by. The Extra shows the spectacular view from the top of campus looking toward the fog-bound ocean. Bonus points if you can spot another deer in the meadow.

Today's visual bounty: a flurry of ground squirrels, uncountable rabbits, two coyotes: one quite large and the other the size of a reasonable dog, blazing house finches, the bluebird of happiness, and the most astonishing of all: a white-tailed kite who flew sweeping circles around us and then returned with a mouse grasped in his talons, passing across the path close enough that I could see its tiny tail.
