On the Edge

Having had 2 full on days with people around us I have only just got a chance to catch up with blip and post the previous days.
The first day of June was a bit of a wake up about how fast the year is galloping on now that the toughest part of lockdown is over.
With the glorious weather set for a little while we set off into the Peak District. When Jean is down staying it doesn't normally take this long to spend a day there. We chose to walk on Curbar Edge, taking lunch at the Bridge Inn in Curbar before we started. That plan was scuppered when they  were closed on Tuesdays but we found the The Eating Place cafe and gift shop just over the bridge and it is now definitely on our list to return to.
After a lovely walk in the warm weather with a slight refreshing breeze on the top we returned home to change for dinner out at our local Italian restaurant. We were again caught out when we walked down to the restaurant with the plan to have pre dinner drinks in Bradmans wine bar, closed on Tuesday, the micro brewery next door had a private function on, so plan C - a nice drink in the pub garden (where has this closing on Tuesday all come from around here?) . It's a good job all the venues are on the same street. Wonderful food again in Angelo's and a real buzzy atmosphere.
