Black-headed gull

I looked back to lock the car and something caught my eye flying away in the distance.  White. Fairly big.  A black-headed gull at 8.34am and broad daylight. Must be.

Glad I did a double-take!

Without too much consideration, we about turned and wandered closer behind the wall where Barny was oblivious to us watching him hunt.  There was also a deer that eventually caught my eye, thigh deep in the grass.

My heart had a little dance.

We didn't stay too long but I kept looking back as we headed up the moors to see if he reappeared. But no, it seemed to be the last bite to eat before bedtime.
