These devices might make an interesting project for study: they are often puzzling, their displays are sometimes incompatible with any sort of ambient light above twilight, the card payment part is always so low that it requires a half-crouch to see the instructions, you are sometimes required to input a registration that you can't remember and the computer inside is always so very slow.  I had bypassed the whole system by using a iOS app (which I might live to regret, as it mentions "enforcement" a few times) but this lady had taken a while to use coins in the conventional manner.

The modern world is not always made more convenient by its automatic devices.
