Evening Chore

I do like dogs – any size or shape, any coat or colour.   We always had pets at home when I was growing up; when we lived in Calcutta my parents owned a Great Dane ("Cleopatra") which had a litter of eight puppies which was great fun in the school holidays.

But the responsibility and cost put me right off any plan for getting one.  I heard a programme on the radio a few weeks ago in which some chap opined that the monthly cost might be as much as £200, taking into account vet's bills etc . . .

And then there's the need to give the dog a walk in the morning and evening, at least, coupled with the poo-bag operation.  I understand how others might be willing to deal with these challenges, but not me, not now . . .
