The road to . . .

. . . the Village Hall. And how good it was to be walking there to meet people, instead of getting the laptop out and tuning into Zoom. It had been arranged that we could have our Book Group meeting in the Hall - socially distanced chairs in a circle. There were ten of us, not bad for a little village.

We had read ‘The Turn of the Screw’ and we had an excellent discussion. I have always found Henry James difficult to read and I think everyone struggled, but were glad they had made the effort. Interesting thoughts on interpretations etc. But mostly we were just so pleased to be all in the same room and not in front of a screen.
