'Puddling'

Volunteering today at Lochwinnoch. Did a little gardening but the ground was hard in the morning. We had over 300 Greylag geese. About a hundred flew over and over 200 landed on the Loch in front of the reserve. There were 8 Pink-Footed Geese among the Greylags.

In the afternoon N and I practised the ancient art of 'puddling'. There is now a large man made puddle in front of the reserve with lumps of clay around it. We were adding water to it and treading it down with our wellies to make a slope for waders.
