Summer Greens

We got up early to beat the expected rain and headed north about 30 miles to Frederick, Maryland for a walk along the Monocacy River at River Bend.  Neither of us had been there before and it was such a pleasant surprise. We walked about 3.7 miles under a beautiful canopy of green, listening to the loud mating calls of the cicadas and lots of birds that could be heard but not well seen because of the thick foliage, so not a lot of pictures. 

Next to the parking lot, is a boat ramp and a walk down there gave a nice view of the river.
