‘Nine New Ducklings on the Water of Leith’

We had a tip yesterday that there was a new family of ducklings on the Water of Leith, somewhere just east of Stockbridge. Couldn’t see them yesterday, but spotted them today between the Falshaw Bridge and Rocheid Path. 

There are nine of them, and obviously very new ones too!

The water was fast flowing at the spot we first saw them and they looked like they were tumbling downstream. I really did wonder how the little ones would make it back against the current! No need to worry though, as extra photo shows!

 Let’s hope they all survive!
