Schooners’ view

Set off around 12 to drive to Cornwall for a long weekend.  Vik had a coupon, two years old now,  for a night in a hotel in an area he and JP ended up not covering during their long Cornish walk of 18 months ago.   The hotel is very shabby but luckily we’re only staying one night.

But the real fun was going to see Sam’s restaurant in St Agnes. The photo is of the view from our table and it was fun to watch the surfers come in and the beach slowly emptying as the light faded.

Sam is an editor who did Baghdad Central and The Sister with us but he’s also a very successful restauranteur.  The place was absolutely heaving!   But they can’t get the staff so they are all exhausted, and the season has only just really started.   He had to cancel eating with us and we only saw him when he popped out a couple of times to say hello. Fabulous food and great fun though.

Power cut in the hotel when we got back so not much point in staying up!  Moving on tomorrow thankfully.
