Life In Wales

Looking Down on the Town

We’ve had rather a full day today, which started off by taking the girls for a visit to the Zoo. It was quite nice being there as a visitor rather than working, and showing the girls around made me realise how much I’ve already learnt about the animals. The girls really enjoyed it and said that their favourite animal was the snow leopard.

The nice thing is that as the Zoo is only a 10 minute drive from home, and now I’ve bought an annual family membership, we can take them whenever they want to go. We only stayed a couple of hours today as we were invited to Clare’s for lunch so that Scarlett and Violet could meet Lara, Clare’s 9 year old daughter.

All 3 girls were excited about meeting, but of course there was the initial awkwardness. That didn’t last for long though and after lunch Lara took us for a walking tour of part of the Great Orme and in no time at all, they were ‘best’ friends. Once we got to the top we had this amazing view looking over Llandudno (I’ve added an extra of the girls) and we also came across a group of the Llandudno goats.

The next port of call was Clare & Mike’s cafe for ice cream and cake and then everyone came back to ours for a fish and chip supper in the garden. In Violet’s words ‘it’s been a really wonderful day’ and Scarlett and Lara have exchanged contact details so that they can FaceTime to keep in touch until the next time the girls come to visit when they plan to get together again.
