Froghopper

I noticed several blobs of cuckoo spit on the mint and tried to rub it off, only to find I had released the contents rather than squashing them.

The 'spit' is created by the nymph of the Froghopper, a type of sap-sucking bug, blowing air through a secretion from their anus, as a form of protection. Here we have three nymphs on the tip of my left forefinger, from just one blob of cuckoo spit.

I have added them to the Silly Saturday challenge, in memory of Admirer. But I'll be out with the soapy water before bedtime.
