Long Distance

Here is Luke, my boyfriend and best friend. He lives in Tokyo, and is pretty busy with his work in plant developmental biology. Even so, we try to find the time to skype every day, and so his is still the first the face I see on waking, and the last before I close my eyes.

Luke once joked that the reason he moved to Tokyo was so that he could finally sing the Proclaimers song '500 Miles' and mean it - don't know if he remembers that or not, but it made me smile. We try to cross those miles from Fukuoka to Tokyo as often as we can, but for the times in between: I'm more than thankful for skype!
