The Birds

This was a scene I came upon late yesterday afternoon, having just missed the main event. It appears to have been the birthday party of the little girl in the yellow dress. The kids must have been throwing food to the gulls, to attract all these admirers. When I first looked out my window, gulls were swooping everywhere. and the kids were chasing them. Some gulls dived at the kids in half-hearted retaliation. Of course, none of this does any good. It just makes gulls associate people with food, and may even make them more fearless.
