Budgerigars in the Wild

After witnessing these incredibly beautiful little birds in the wild I don't ever want to see another Budgerigar in a cage again.  This was a first for me and we watched for ages from a distance as the Mum and Dad flew back to this tiny little hole in the tree to feed the little chick.  I've added another one of the Mum and Dad waiting for the little one to pop its head out of the hole.  If you look closely you will see the little darling.
We were absolutely thrilled with the walk into the canyon this morning.  We decided against doing the arduous "Rim Walk" around the top of the canyon as we just felt it could be very draining on such a warm day and we had heard some gruesome stories of how people had met their demise on the walk!!  Thanks ninniex for your heads up :)  We really wanted to be in the Canyon, soaking up the wildlife and the incredible beauty of the natural vegetation contrasted with the amazing colours of the rocks.  I think Mauzee captured that really well today.
We are back at the camp ground now and happily have a bit of internet connection so we are posting while we can.  Another lovely walk lined up tomorrow into Kathleen Springs and of course another hilarious night at the "Outback Barbecue and Sunset Viewing" tonight.

We are both so loving your comments and hearts and stars that you have been showering on us.  It's a wonderful feeling to know that you are all enjoying our journey so much.  Next time we might have to hire a bus and you can all come with us!!  Now that's a great idea!!
