An extraordinary day!

Well I didn't expect that!!  After our walk through Kings Canyon yesterday I was expecting Kathleen Springs walk to be a little less dramatic.  How wrong was I.  It seems that because of the recent rains in the outback there is an amazing amount of vegetation at the moment and we have been lucky enough to land here at this time.  The Ptilotus Nobilis (mauve variety) were like a carpet either side of us for most of the walk.  At times it was like we were in a star wars movie with literally flocks of tiny budgerigars and Zebra Finches flying around us like jet planes.  It was a most uplifting and exciting morning.  Tomorrow we head north to Alice Springs and we've just discovered that there's a major motorcycle event - The Desert Classic on in the Alice.  We have been lucky enough to secure a site for tomorrow but then we may have to go bush to escape the crowds and return to Alice Springs early next week.  Apparently the population of Alice Springs will be double the norm over this coming weekend.  It could provide a bit of fun for us as well as there will be some characters in town and as Mauzee just commented, "there could be some good blips to be had".  Crikey trisharooni, you would be in your element, we wouldn't see you for dust :)))
I have added an extra of the area that we walked into this morning.  We just climbed a small hill off to the right before we got back to Mini Mo
