Sunshine, water and good company

Monday is usually Luca's day at our house. But with Marianna's changed hours, Frieda was here today too, just for the morning. Richard is still away in Northern Ireland, so Ruth spent the morning with us too. Herding two under-twos, without mayhem breaking out, is still a two-person job, as far as I'm concerned.

Frieda was away for the half-term week, with Jack and Marianna. So the two little cousins hadn't seen each other for a while. When they met up, they just ran towards each other and hugged for a long time - it was very, very sweet.

We were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather, so we spent our time together outside in the garden. The only ingredients needed for a happy time were water and a few containers of different sizes. Ruth's old toy teaset, stored away for 25+  years and now in regular use again. A couple of toddler-sized watering cans. One of the shallow feed buckets I used to use for Milly (pony) at the stables, now repurposed for garden jobs. Pouring water onto warm paving stones, and wriggling your toes in the puddles - what could be better?
