Fiddlesticks

As Chris had an early hair appt in Guiseley he also went to collect some parcels from M&S to save me going and spending more! So we headed out for a walk a little later than usual.

Leaving the car on the main road we walked up through Morton Cemetery to the canal tow path and walked along to the Five Rise Locks in Bingley where we saw Fiddlesticks and Bella the lovely barge and dog belonging to blipper lizzie_birkett and Frank. It was an unplanned blipmeet but we knew they were here as Lizzie had posted their arrival on her yesterday’s blip.
Bella was very happy to greet us and we called out and were soon welcomed on board.

What a lovely water borne home it is, I felt quite envious of their trip over the next few weeks down to Sheffield by water.
We had a nice chat together,  it felt like we had known each other quite some time not a first meeting as is often the case with blippers. Chris and I got a coffee from the cafe and then came back to wish them well on their journey before walking back along the canal.
They will be coming back this way when they rerun to their mooring so maybe we will catch them again, I do hope so.

On our way along the canal we saw three lots of goslings, two sets from Canada geese and one Greylag; the swans again with their seven growing cygnets and then on the return some pretty young ducklings, five in all moving too fast for a photo, especially as I had forgotten to take my camera!

A lovely unplanned morning walk and meeting.
Cheers Lizzie, Frank and Bella, great to meet you!
