nomowmay again

We did #nomowmay last year, and we loved the wild flower meadow look so much, we didn't mow until September.  During the Winter, I read that it's good to mow a small part of your grass because some plants and creatures thrive better in short grass.  So this year I have mowed about a quarter of our grass and left the rest to flower as it will.  It's a stunningly good year for buttercups, but they are just the most recent flowers in the waves of primroses, cowslips, violas, speedwell, bluebells and wild garlic.  Next will be the orchids :-)
