Tricky

It's been unusually hot here in Maine over the last couple of days, with temperatures reaching into the 90's.

I somehow doubt that whoever lives in this old house will be able to open that window in hopes of catching a cooling breeze.  Another in my growing collection of "Down East ruins".

Rental Update:  We just had the second batch of house renters depart from Sweet Haven this morning -- what a contrast between them and the first ones!  The first people (4 of them) were very considerate, respectful, and left the place pretty much as they found it.  The second lot (only 2 of them, but you'd never know it from the state they left things) were pigs!!!  They used up ALL the beach towels, slept in BOTH beds, left ALL the bath towels/hand towels/wash cloths in both main and guest house in heaps on the floor, moved all the deck furniture around, left chairs on the dock to be blown into the cove in the next thunderstorm, left both umbrellas open on the deck to be blown inside out and broken (even though we do ask people to close them when they are not being used), both sliding doors in the guest house were left WIDE open, they left the stinky remains of a cooked lobster tail speared onto the beak of a decorative wooden seagull on the deck, and blueberries were scattered all over the floor in the main house!  The housekeeping staff were appalled, and actually apologized to us, assuring us that most people don't behave this way!  I certainly hope not!!!
