Roadmap Out Of Lockdown Step 3 - Day 24

Bus Challenge No 181!

Unbelievably it's been 15 long months since I last took a bus, so today's bus ride was a challenge in more than one way!

The elderly neighbour I shop for doesn't drive, or have any family, so the bus is her only means of transport. Since the start of the first Lockdown she has felt too nervous to take a bus ride so I suggested to her that we take a short bus ride together to give her the confidence to start taking the bus again. And that's what we did this morning. Just a very short bus ride to the next village, to a cafe where we enjoyed an ice cream in the sunshine. An hour later we were back on the bus home. Having enjoyed her little outing, and got used to the bus (which was surprisingly busy both ways), we shall venture out again on the bus, and travel a little further afield next time. Baby steps...

Incidentally, Marshfield Ice Cream, which is sold all over the country, is made just up the road, outside Bath. A sunny morning, and a cloudy, muggy afternoon of 21 degrees.

Total bus journey time = 9 mins!!

Take care, stay safe and well...
