None of us climbed today, even though four of us went to Great Wanney Crag. The walk in was over forestry land and tedious.

We made for the area where there were three Mods in a row, along with a few Diffs, but none of us felt up to climbing them. The routes were very overgrown, covered with lichen and had very little protection. I think the lower graded routes aren't much climbed, whereas the harder ones weren't vegetated. We went down and did some easy bouldering at the base of the crag.

We made the mistake of trying to return to the car by a different route and spent some while finding our way, with great difficulty, through tall heather, bog and massive grass tufts and spruce trees with sharp needles. We were all absolutely exhausted by the time we reached the car, because of course we were carrying our climbing sacks. Heavy! But this evening we've had a lovely meal at the Twice Brewed pub, and now early bed.
