Be Warned - this could happen anywhere

In attempting to size up the positive against the inevitable negative of the teeming metropolis that is flabby concrete belly of Kirkwall, I trotted along to New Scapa Road.  Is ‘City Criticism’ an entity of its own – the native against the imported pejorative?  A man in the street said ‘structures aren’t sculptures'.  Claire and Stuart demanded a fee.*

The IainatCreel urbanism editor Alissa Walker pondered. ‘What’s happening in the surrounding community, what political efforts hindered progress, and, conceding all those externalities, can the project still best serve the audience that it is intended to serve?  Who needs Blip anyway?’

Jonathan Meades was away from his desk; Nikolaus Pevsner would have had Blip closed down and the old tar Sir John Bitumen would have lost both his mews and his muse.

In brighter news it’s the sixteenth consecutive year Judith Chalmers has been voted the thinking man’s kipper.

Be good.

Every one of you.
