Flax Flower

Phormium tenax is an evergreen perennial plant native to New Zealand, commonly known as the flax flower.  Beautiful red colour in spring and summer, the birds feed from them, and equally attractive in winter as it dries and browns.  I’ll tag this for Flower Friday, thanks Annie.

An absolutely outstanding afternoon for a walk along our coastline track, the air had a lovely winter crispness which was refreshing.  Many of these flaxes adorn the cliffs and do very well in these coastal conditions.

A lovely morning, and into the afternoon was spent with my friends and neighbours.  Our two weekly craft group, lots of happy chatter, nice foods and not too much crafts.

Doug says thanks and appreciated your birthday wishes to him. Have a lovely weekend.
