Migration

Well, a bit of an odd one today. I started out with this origami bird. For the original photo the bird was placed on a lightpad and the light source I used to create the shadow was a reading lamp. The resulting image was then combined with an image taken last weekend of the River Exe. The River and it's estuary are an important wintering site for migratory birds. Not sure anyone has yet seen one quite like this though! The left hand side of the image is darker to suggest the arrival of migratory birds in the shorter and darker days of Autumn and Winter. The right-hand side is lighter and suggests the arrival of Spring, when the birds are leaving the river for their summer breeding grounds.
