Single parenting...

Herein lies a very sad story. About three weeks ago Mr and Mrs Swan from Oak Pond in Home Park became parents to seven lovely cygnets. Just over a week ago Mrs Swan went missing, and Mr  Swan could be seen tending the family. Tragically Mrs Swan's body was found on Thursday. I Have not heard more than that. Mr Swan is amazing, has taken on his single parenting role very seriously, even ferrying one of the cygnets around on his back yesterday. Here you can see the family out early this morning cruising through the duck weed on the Longwater.
I waited for over an hour by the kestrel tree this morning - my patience was eventually rewarded - see my extra photos.
