Coastal gems

A wonderful sunny day spent exploring some of Jersey's 'off the beaten track' coastal gems.

This morning, an adventurous walk with friends A and M, plus Jack and Poppy, climbing over rocks from cove to cove. Afterwards we dropped into picturesque Portelet, only accessible by (a lot of) steps, and a more beautiful beach you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere, blessed also with a very nice cafe (top pics).

This evening my bird expert buddy took M and I to Plémont, on the north west corner of the island where we scrambled through the bracken to get down as far as possible, hoping to spot some Puffins. We saw several, swimming under the cliffs (bottom right) but too far away to photograph. We had a little picnic before heading back along the west coast as the sun was sinking.

I wanted to (needed to) drink in the beauty of the island today, some sunshine for the soul, and in the company of lovely friends.
