Day 10 Napier

Our last full day in Napier today so after breakfast we drove with our host to the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market at the racecourse in Hastings. It’s a wonderful market and so good to see all the amazing stalls selling all sorts of interesting produce and products. We bought some cultured smoked butter to take home with us.  After we arrived home we got out our bikes and set off on a cycle ride along the side of the Tutaekuri River out to the coast then along the cycle path into Napier. Of course, not having had any wind all morning, we had a strong head wind, which made cycling rather slow. We bumped into a couple of friends along the way, stopped for a coffee and a small nibble, then cycled out to the Blokart Club where our host was enjoying an afternoon of Blokarting.  We stayed for a while and enjoyed watching the activity then cycled home, showered and changed ready to take our host out for dinner.  We had a lovely meal together with lots of talk. A fitting end to our holiday.
The main blip shows an assortment of produce at the market; the first extra shows scenes from the market; the second extra shows the whale bone sculpture on Marine Parade; and the third extra shows the Blokart yachts in action.
