Under the Weather

Clouds racing across the sky above all the wires - me a bit slow with some bit of a bug. Took time out with a new novel, or so I thought, but must have read first chapter extracted in The New Yorker. I kind of hate that - not fair to the book's full story - and I almost put this down thinking I had read it. Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan.

New Pope - he sounds like a decent choice for these times, older yes, conservative in doctrine yes, but caring, humble and will hopefully lead in work to even out the distribution of wealth, privilege and all such issues that keep too many poor and under the weight of power.
