Flora

Today on Meall nan Tarmachan was all about the flowers.

The main blip is Water Avens & a bee - really not bad for a phone pic. Then is extras there’s Starry saxifrage, Alpine mouse ear and Globe flowers. All this is growing and much much more in the protected area below Ben Lawers.

Chris & George headed south today but Peter & I went East for a couple of days based from Loch Earn. We climbed Meall nan Tarmachan, starting in fine weather, albeit with a ferociously cold wind. We battled on up to the Munro summit, (1004m), but by then the cloud base had dropped and we could see about 20m. High wind and fog meant that for us, the ridge was left for another day.

We are now staying on the shore of Loch Earn. for a couple of days.
