Junior Prom

Most American high schools still have a Junior Prom.....a relic from times past that was typically a teenager's introduction to the adult world of social discourse. Last year the custom was dropped due to COVID protocols but this year it was resumed but late. It took a while for the Junior Class to convince the Board of Education that they should be allowed to stage the event. They got permission, ultimately, but it was held on off campus in a tent as summer construction at the high school was already underway for next year.

This group of Junior Class individuals was selected to represent the class as "prom royalty." The King and Queen were selected by vote of the attendees. In our small school everyone is allowed to attend the dance only this year, in a bow to COVID, only our students would be allowed to attend....no boyfriends or girlfriends from other school were allowed.

There are some seriously good athletes among the court members (both K & Q are super soccer players) and all are excellent academics.

The King is the first fella far left....the Queen wears the red dress.
