It is home for a few samples of just about every crane species on the planet. It serves not only as an educational foundation it is a reservoir of genes that can be used to repopulate near extinct crane species, many of which are threatened by habitat loss and/or global warming.

Well worth the visit if for nothing more than to see Whooping Cranes, the largest in the world.
