Perfectly okay

A very lazy day playing Nintendo DS (Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure) and the piano whilst Larissa wrote all our thankyou cards for the wedding.

When we were in France, I picked up a load of sheet music books; one of which was a compilation of movie scores. Composers like Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Trevor Rabin, Nick Glennie-Smith and more recently Steve Jablonsky (who wrote the quite incredible Transformers score) write most of the music you hear in modern blockbuster action movies. They blend big orchestral themes with modern percussion beats to produce, in my opinion, music that is unrivalled in the 21st Century. If these guys had been around a few hundred years ago, they would be up there alongside the Masters.

I have a small collection of orchestral soundtracks (about twenty now I think) and The Rock is one of my favourites. Hans, Harry and Nick all worked together to write the music to this particular film and as such it doesn't put a note wrong.

Dum dum dum dum, dum, dum...
