Seeing Beyond Looking

Evening Cruise

I remember hearing, or reading, the word 'staycation' ... and the way it was described sounded such a wonderful thing to do: " A holiday spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions."

It would seem that I have been doing exactly that, mainly due to the incredible stretch of  sunny, hot weather we've been having after a cold and mostly rainy month of May!

The lovely, and frequent outings in my area have been just wonderful and I really have felt as if I've been on holiday. Out every day to see lovely things and something different each day.

The lake is always a big attraction when the weather is so fine. Yesterday was no exception and we reserved our places on my favourite steam boat: "La Suisse" for a two and a quarter hours enjoying a good meal and fabulous views. I love standing on the deck with the fresh breeze blowing and watching the boat's paddles churn up the water.

The main shot needs no explaining, it's the beautiful steamboat after our cruise with the golden sun low in the sky.  If you look carefully, you can see the shadows of the people on the lower part of the boat as they come out onto the quayside, especially two at the front and several in the middle where we all filed out!

Extra:
Standing on deck gazing at the lighting on the vineyards and reflections over the water.

The storms are coming tomorrow and it sounds as if they will rumble around for several days to come!

So, dear friends, if you can, make hay while the sun shines ... as the weather these days can be capricious indeed!
