Coastal Heaven

I don’t think I have taken so many landscape photos in one day ! apologies for all the extras but I tried to catch a selection of the moments along the way.
Our day started as usual with a 1 minute stroll to the Yacht Club cafe at the end of the quay for a takeaway cappuccino and today we added a couple of slices of bara brith for on our walk later.
We walked from Abereiddi to Porthgain and then decided to ignore the inland circular walk back to prefer retracing our coastal steps as those views were worth another look !  It was a varied walk starting with the all action Blue Lagoon. Here coasteering all started and the world series cliff diving event was held, none of that sort of adventure for us but good to watch others jump in and clamber over rocks. Next up was a lot of steps down to Traeth Llyfn. We arrived as the high tide was turning so the rocks at the bottom of the steps provided a good place for lunch whilst the water receded far enough to access the beach without scrambling over all the rocks. What a time to arrive, as the beach was revealed we had it all to share with only a handful of other people. We had a few hours of rock pooling and paddling on beach heaven in warm sun, who needs anything other than staycations?  Back up those steps and onwards to look around the old quarry buildings and industrial site at the top of the cliffs of Porthgain. An interesting past to a lovely little port.
We arrived home knackered and happy !
Later I decided to drive up to Strumble Head for sunset again but that turned out to be a bad decision. The sunset failed on me and a young girl driver caught my car as she “squeezed" past on a narrow lane, she carried on and was out of sight before I could get a reg number. Not much damage but so annoying. I prefer to forget the end of the day and remember the stunning walk.

PS Your feedback for yesterdays owl has been overwhelming. I can't thank you enough.
