The Kelpies

Ok so the last 48 hours have been quite stressful. However we are headed home and were going to cut our stop to the Kelpies, but as we were driving past anyway we decided to get some fresh air there.

So what’s happened?

1) Peter’s credit card has been cancelled due to fraudulent use
2) in Scotland to use general electric car chargers you generally need a ‘membership card’. We didn’t know and there were no Tesla ones nearby so we almost got stranded - pretty stressful! A very very long phone call and fortunately the charger in Killin was enabled remotely
3) Reggie ate a tub of chewing gum yesterday which is more than enough to kill him. Lo rushed him to animal hospital where he was given a drug to induce vomit. Not much gum appeared however so he’s been kept in so glucose and bloods can be taken regularly. When Lo got home she found a big pile of regurgitated gum in the garden so luckily he should be ok. I can report he’s being kept in for continued observation.
4) we had a delicious dinner in the hotel last night but I got a stomach bug and was up ALL night bar about two lots of 20 mins. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so unwell. 4 people have it so the hotel has had to close. I’ve had some tablets to stop the motions and touch wood have been ok in car so far - mostly sleeping. Peter has now been sick twice though so we aren’t out the woods yet!
5) we were to have picked up Tony’s belongings from Durham. We cancelled that as just want to get home
6) a girl in Tony’s flat has tested positive for CV-19 so despite partial isolation for the last 3 days it is extremely unlikely that he’ll be able to come home for my very belated 50th birthday family lunch on Sunday.

All this in 48 hours!
