We’re a couple of swells

Our annual trip to the May Isle didn’t disappoint.

It’s the breeding season for the vast colonies of sea birds. We did see a couple of shag chicks and a lesser black backed gull chick ….. too early for baby terns but as we walked up from the ferry we were very close to the nesting area and the adult birds will dive bomb any passers by. If there are any pufflings they were well hidden in their burrows.

The puffins, known as the clowns of the sea, are always the star attraction. They stay in the same place for quite a time which makes photography much easier.
