The Original Dwellers

Today I went to Green Park in London to see this herd of 100 elephants from India and they are named after the humans who made them. ( see extra) They believe animals have an equal right to live on this earth and have created each member of the herd from Lantana, an invasive weed that is destroying the forests where the people and elephants live. This installation is part of Dr Sanjay Gubbi’s Fuelling Change Project which has reduced firewood usage and saves 250 tonnes of trees from being chopped down annually. Alternative fuel sources have been supplied to families in an effort to preserve the forest for elephants, tigers and other animals.
